Taking Care of Damaged Hair and Dry Hair

Taking Care of Damaged Hair and Dry Hair

Many items on the market are made to help you care for dry hair or damaged hair so you can restore your hair to its normally beautiful healthy condition. Taking precautions to save your hair from getting damaged in the first place is the ideal way to deal with hair health difficulties. You can do this by observing some easy hair care methods to protect your hair from getting damaged or dried out. Ask your hairstylist for advice on taking good care of your hair. Some products are produced specifically to help you temporarily enhance the appearance of your hair if it is already damaged. Once your hair is damaged, however, there is simply no way to completely repair the damage to hair that has already grown out; rather, you have got to take care of the fresh hair growing in correctly so it will be healthy when it has entirely replaced your old, damaged hair.

If your hair is dry and unmanageable, you might want to experiment with different types of shampoos and conditioners until you discover a blend that helps to maintain your hair moist and shiny. One way to prevent excessively dry hair is to blow-dry your hair only until it is nearly, but not quite, totally dry, then let it finish drying naturally. Hair dyes and tinting chemicals can dry your hair out and harm it, so you ought to be cautious regarding what sorts of solutions you use for coloring your hair, or discuss potential problems with your hairdresser before deciding to have your hair dyed or highlighted.

Split ends can be removed only by trimming your hair with sharp scissors. Some hair products claim to manage split ends and using them may help make your hair look better, but their usefulness is most likely only superficial and temporary. One way to avoid sun damage, which can help make your hair dry and brittle, is to use a conditioner that contains UV protective ingredients. You can treat dry and damaged hair with a selection of moisturizers and conditioners that will help to make it look better while your healthy new hair is growing in to take its place.

You can do a variety of things to encourage your hair to grow in healthy and gorgeous as it replaces older damaged hair. Avoid using harsh chemicals such as dyes in your hair and avoid overheating your hair when drying it or when getting perms put on. Find a gentle combination of shampoos and conditioners which keeps your hair lustrous and full-bodied. Perhaps most essential, be certain to eat a sensible diet with proper amounts of natural oils and proteins. Getting regular exercise and eating right will keep you healthy and feeling energetic. Staying in good general wellness is the very best way to encourage healthy hair growth.

Hair Tips For the Summer

Pretty, polished ponies; voluminous, bouncy curves, and edgy, rock-n-roll crops comprise three of this summer's top trends in hairstyles, according to an art director of a leading hair fashion house. After assessing the fashion shows, notable international ad campaigns like LVMH and CK, and exorbitantly famous celebrities like Pink, he concludes, "Today's hairstyle cuts are always meant to be changed. Adapt them to your age, your hair type, your personal style. That, I believe is the right way to approach beauty."

Pin-Up Girl

40's pin-up models like Betty Grable struck the perfect balance between sex kitten allure and girl-next-door approachability, and that's the overall effect of this hair trend, says the artist. Start with soft body, created with a classic rollers, then brush through with a firm brush to loosen the curls. Next, gently pull the top portion of the hair to the top of the head and secure loosely with plenty of volume on top. "This look should be interpreted casually," notes the hair stylist, "otherwise it can look a bit too retro."
Tip: Prep hair for roller sets with a hair care product that gives hair "grip" like Thermal Design Foam. "This hair care product is one of my favorites" says the artist. "It contains a mild setting agent that gives you control, but it also lets you manipulate and style the hair." If hair is fine and needs even more "bite," try Texture Spray. It's lightweight, so it won't cause fine strands to collapse, but it provides plenty of style support. "Feel free to layer it on," adds the artist, "if you need more style strength."

Summer's Breezy Up and Away Do

"Many runways shows this summer featuring simple looks", said the art director . "Especially when the hairstyle doesn't block the face," he says, "it instantly shows an innocent, young 'I had a great night's sleep' effect. Whenever I want to put some some pizazz to a hairstyle, I lift it off the face" Right now, he loves youthful, groomed ponies and buns, and what makes them particularly modern, he says, is the foundational texture. "Dry the hair so that it's smooth and polished, but with plenty of body and bounce," he advises. "Velcro or heated rollers, or the K-PAK ReconstRx Vapor Iron will a smooth finish that's curved at the ends." Want to know another trendy touch? Use a small tail hair comb to create a deep side part before gathering up the hair. "Low side partings are sexy and strong!" he declares.
Hair Tip: Tame flyaways with K-PAK Protect & Shine Serum or Smoothing Balm, followed by K-PAK Protective Hairspray. Rub the balm into palms and run your hands lightly over the surface of the hair. What else is there to do? Well, there is always preparing for winter!
